Internet Safety

Blogging Rules

These rules are designed to keep you safe and to make visiting our quad bloggers classes a fun place to be.
  • You may comment on any post in the blog any time you like, but remember to follow the “2 stars and a wish” commenting guidelines below.
  • When you do leave posts or comments, leave your first name only.
  • Leave quality comments as the blog comment space is not a place to chat.
  • Never leave your email address or any other personal details in a post or comment.
  • All comments will be read before they appear on the site as they go to my email before they appear on the blog.
Writing Comments

GOOD comments

When classes take the time to create a post on their blog it is important that we view it and respond appropriately. When you make a  comment you need to go by the guidelines two stars and a wish. A Star is something that you learnt or liked about the post.  You need to be specific saying 'cool' or 'gr8' is not helpful or useful to the people who created the blog. Some useful sentence starters are: I can relate to this... This makes me think of... I discovered... I don’t understand... I was reminded that... I found myself wondering... A Wish is something that could of been added to the blog post to make it more understandable or improve it.  You wish must be positive and using the term 'even better' is a good start. Finally, comments can be read by anyone from all over the world – teachers, parents, governors, politicians, celebrities (!), so use your best writing skills and try to be as accurate as possible with spellings – take pride in your comments by making sure your sentences are constructed correctly and there are no spelling mistakes! If we keep to the two stars and a wish format our site will be a really fun place to publish our work. If you see something on this blog that you feel shouldn't be published to the world, please let me know.
